Bakery Review: Rockenwagner Bakery – Los Angeles

As hard as my days can get, I know that a few simple pleasures like a flaky butter croissant with a hot cup of coffee can remind me to laugh it off. Rockenwagner Bakery has got some seriously good pastries and other food that will have me giggling ’til next Sunday.
I went to the closest location to me, the Farmer’s Market at Larchmont. Their stand is cocooned on all sides to keep out any wind which creates a private little bakery stand heaven. I was lucky they still had some selection available and left with 3 bags.

5 Grain Scone
The 5 Grain Scone is a sight to behold. It’s visibly loaded with sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and golden raisins giving it multiple corners to crunch off. It has a golden brown glazed crispy crust with a dense softness inside. It’s sweet but with a orange zesty flavor that makes it a little refreshing.
The Butter Croissant is just the way I like it – airy, crispy, butter and not sweet. I recommend popping the pastries in a preheated oven for 5 minutes at 350 before serving.
Here are some pastries I recommend:
Butter Croissant, 5 Grain Orange Zest Scone, Triberry Scone, Pretzel Pizza, Almond Croissant, Cinnamon Roll

Almond Croissant
