Market Restaurant at the Cooper Building – Downtown Los Angeles

There’s a new breakfast/lunch spot in Downtown L.A. where you can get the best molasses cookies around along with other fresh and hot items. Bret Thompson of MILK in Hollywood partnered up with Pablo Ramirez and opened up Market Restaurant at the Cooper Building in the Fashion District. The catering menu is impressive as well as a promising 30 minute delivery service. Other than their molasses cookies, some of my favorite dishes to try are the Feta-terranean Salad with romaine hearts, cucumber, tomatoes, feta cheese, black olives, pita chips, garbanzo beans and lemon vinaigrette, the Vanilla Bean Rice Pudding with fresh fruit and granola, and Turkey Burger with cheddar cheese, vine ripened tomato, green leaf lettuce, pickles and secret sauce. See below for more menu items.

Grocery Bag: Starbucks Italian Roast

I was running out of coffee beans and thought I might try an extra bold roast this time. Normally, I always stick to any bold roast but didn’t mind just a tiny bit of change to my morning coffee. I’ve seen Starbucks Italian Roast plenty of times but never actually tried it out. It’s one of the most traditional extra bold roasts around, and it has taken me forever to give it a go. As all of Starbuck’s coffee bean bags, they perfectly maintain their moisture and freshness which is clearly visible. (I think these are some of my favorite pictures with the way those cute little coffee beans glisten.) I can smell that smoky strong coffee roast without any “ashtray” effect. There was no bitterness at all and the smokiness wasn’t overbearing the caramel flavor – just enough for me to enjoy [...]

Restaurant Review: Alcove Cafe & Bakery – Los Feliz, CA

My 3pm brunch doesn’t have to be at home with Alcove Cafe & Bakery around. This place is the perfect spot for lingering over heart-warming meals in a garden setting that feels just like home. Their menu serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a dizzying list of pastries throughout the entire day and night. I love this place!
Finally, I can have a seriously good brioche french toast with side of apple wood smoked bacon as late as I want. I had to order the fruit plate to add something healthy to my table. They also have an impressive coffee/smoothie bar and variety of other drinks to order. There is plenty of patio seats around the front and sides of this house converted cafe – with umbrellas for shade in this sunny spot on the block.

Grocery Bag: Cafe Bustelo Cappuccino

There’s so many different ways to make a cup of coffee or espresso. All my friends have different preferences and sometimes I’m surprised. I always have to have milk and sugar in mine. Sometimes it’s too high maintenance to have a cup of coffee the way I want it and I wish it was easier. Usually, this happens to me when I’m at work and don’t have my kitchen for all the tools and ingredients. Also, I just don’t have the time. Here’s something to try when there’s no time. Cafe Bustelo Cappuccino only requires a mug of hot water for a fresh cup of creamy cappucino. One box includes 5 servings.

Grocery Bag: Bustelo Supreme Espresso Coffee

My coffee favorites always lean towards the super dark roasts. Once in a while I like to try one of the medium roasts for that lighter fruity flavor. Here’s one that’s a true Cuban medium roast from Cafe Bustelo. Bustelo Supreme comes in 1 lb. bag of coffee beans, 10 oz. brick or can, or 3.5 oz Instant Decaf, and even E.S.E. espresso pods. Basically, they come in every which way to suit your kitchen so that it’s super easy to make yourself a fresh cup of Cuban coffee – even if you have no kitchen! This is a really affordable roast to keep on hand and is especially good when you’re serving a group of friends with different taste buds.

Grocery Bag: Cafe Bustelo Espresso Coffee

I need my hot cup of coffee every day – especially in the mornings, actually all morning long. There is usually no time between waking up and my first meeting to make a fresh brew or do a Starbucks run. I’m also very picky about my cup of java as most coffee drinkers are. I’m the person in the office that always always has a hot cup of coffee in hand throughout the day. That’s why I have to say that Cafe Bustelo Espresso Coffee is my newest favorite find.
Cafe Bustelo Espresso Coffee is a Cuban dark roast that comes in a 6 or 10 ounce brick pack, 10 or 36 ounce can, and the winning Instant 7oz. jar. Seriously, the Instant makes my day. I can’t say enough how much I’m won over by being able to have fresh hot dark espresso [...]
