I have a slight obsession with coffee. What began as a much-needed boost to get through my workday, has now evolved into quite the intense hobby. When I first began my journey into this aromatic world, I had no idea there were so many different ways of brewing a standard cup of java.
Although there are several ways I prefer to brew my own coffee, pour-over coffee has quickly risen the ranks to become my daily staple. In fact, my own brew technique has made me quite the popular friend among my fellow coffee-loving friends.
If you’re interested in setting up an effective pour-over brewing system, you must focus on the gear you use. While there are many pour-over brewing systems available on the current market - and I’ve tested nearly all of them - the following is, in my opinion, the absolute best.
Best Tasting Coffee Brew - Kalita Wave Dripper
If you’re all about taste, then you’ll want to purchase the Kalita Wave Dripper 185 Series . What I love about this brewing gear is its ability to perfectly craft an outstanding cup of coffee without much hassle. Evenly extracting each cup is quite easy. I never really understood the smaller nuances of coffee flavors until I began using this pour-over system.
Really, the only downside of this pour-over brewing system is the specific type of filters it requires. You’ll have a difficult time finding the filters in stores, but they’re relatively easy to locate online, such as at Amazon.
I recommend using the Kalita Wave Dripper with the Kalita Wave Series 500 Server. They’re made to work together and it really does streamline the entire brewing process.
The Easiest Pour-Over System - Clever Coffee Maker
I understand many coffee lovers simply don’t have the time or desire to master pour-over brewing. Thankfully, this doesn’t mean it’s impossible to brew a delicious pour-over cup of coffee - it only means you need to go for a simpler brewing system.
The Clever Coffee Maker is without-a-doubt my personal favorite pour-over system for novice brewers. In the most simplistic of explanations, to brew a cup of coffee, you simply place a #4 Coffee Filter into the cone-shaped portion of the system, add ground coffee and finally add hot water.
After sitting for a few minutes, the brewed coffee pours into your favorite mug. You’ll notice this coffee is tasty and by-far a higher quality than a standard drip machine. The only downside I found when compared to the Kalita Wave is the complexities of flavor are slightly muddled; however, the majority of coffee drinkers won’t notice a significant difference.
Coffee Reimagined | Pour-Over Brew Systems
Whether you like a simple cup of coffee to get your day going, or you’re obsessed with isolating the various flavors and aromas from different beans, a pour-over brewing system is guaranteed to alter how you view (and enjoy) coffee.
